Oak Glen sweeps Bellaire

BELLAIRE — The Oak Glen softball team swept a doubleheader at Bellaire on Tuesday.

In the first game, Oak Glen won, 4-3, in nine innings.

Janaya Montgomery pitched the first seven innings, striking out 10 batters, and Maddie McKay pitched the final three with five punchouts.

Lexi Andrews and Hannah Patterson had home runs, while Montgomery also had an RBI.

In the second game, McKay went the distance, striking out 10 in a 6-1 win.

Hannah Walker, McKay and Andrews had multi-hit games, McKay and Andrews driving in two runs each.

RICHMOND — The Big Red softball team defeated Edison on Tuesday at Jefferson Lake State Park, 14-1.

Madison Fields had a monster game for Steubenville, going the distance for the win in the circle while hitting two home runs, finishing with four hits and six RBIs at the plate.

Leah Ferguson, Lakyn Blackburn and Raven Banks each had two RBIs.

For Edison, Mikayla Petrisko and Hannah Christoff each had two hits.

WEIRTON — The Indian Creek softball team got a big win over Weir High on Tuesday, 16-1, in three innings.

The Redskins got two home runs from Taylor Scott, three hits — all doubles — and four RBIs from Megan Kelley and two doubles and two RBIs from Kacie Vandeborne.

Kaydee Kinsey got the win in the circle, striking out one.

Sophia Mikula had two hits, including a double, and an RBI for the Red Riders.

The lone run for the Red Knights came on a Jamie Anderson home run. Shanna Reed had three singles and Lexi Thomas two.

Anderson took the loss in the circle with a pair of strikeouts.
