Girls district tournament pairings set
The draw for the girls basketball district tournaments was held Sunday, setting who, when and where local teams will play to begin the post season.
This season is the first season using the new format of seven divisions and the second year the seeding has been set by the OHSAA’s MaxPreps RPI format.
DIVISION III
Steubenville Big Red is the lone team in the D3 East District bracket and earned the No. 3 seed. Big Red (12-6) will open at home on Feb. 12 hosting No. 5 seed Zanesville (3-16) with a 7 p.m. opening tip.
The winner of that game will travel to No. 2 seed Dover (12-4) on Feb. 15 at 1 p.m. in the district semis.

In the East 2 bracket, Buckeye Local (3-15) is the No. 11 seed and will take on the winner of No. 1 seed Union Local (16-4) and No. 12 Coshocton (0-18) on Feb. 19.
