Creek girls pull away to win big on the road at Brooke

WELLSBURG — The Indian Creek girls basketball team raced out to a 25-2 lead against Brooke, and the Redskins did not look back en route to a 63-11 victory Monday night inside the Brooke Wellness Center.

Kaydence Walker recorded a game-high 23 points to lead the way offensively for Indian Creek (4-0), while Gracie Klinesmith tallied 10 and Riley Sadler delivered eight.

Kiera Kosut collected three to lead the way for the Bruins (1-2).

Indian Creek is set to take on Buckeye 8 foe Harrison Central Thursday night at home on Coach D Court, while Brooke will take on East Liverpool the same night up at Potter Fieldhouse.

Edison storms back

MINERVA — The Edison girls basketball team erased a 10-point deficit in the fourth quarter to storm back for a 44-41 win at Minerva on Monday, staying undefeated at 5-0.

The Wildcats outscored the Lions 18-7 in the final quarter.

Abby Carpenter led the way with 21 points, 12 of which came in the fourth. Abby Boka netted eight.

Edison is at Weir High on Thursday.

Huskies win third-straight

CADIZ — The Harrison Central Huskies moved to 3-2 on the season Monday with a 52-35 home victory over Beaver Local, their third-straight win after an 0-2 start.

The Huskies’ Kelsey Powers led all scorers with 16 points, while also pulling down five rebounds. Freshman Shayla Nameth scored 10, and junior Mikayla Pelegreen added seven points and five rebounds.

BOWLING

East Liverpool Sweeps Brooke

EAST LIVERPOOL — The host Potters claimed both ends of a high school bowling match at Walnut Lanes.

BOYS

Jordan McDole rolled a 203 and Kaleb Hanlon a 202 to pace East Liverpool to a 2015-1666 victory. Grady Rudibaugh had a 364 series.

Alex Obeldobel had a pair of 186 games for a 372 series for Brooke.

GIRLS

The Potters received a 195 game from Cameron Estell and a 295 series from Danny Riggle for a 1732-1348 win.

Kaylee Tuttle had a 171 game and a 297 series for Brooke.
