Baron Club ceremony set

STEUBENVILLE — Franciscan University of Steubenville 53rd annual Baron Club Awards will be held at 6 p.m. on Nov. 14 at the Finnegan Fieldhouse.

The ceremony will honor the 1980 U.S. Olympic hockey team that won a gold medal. A fundraiser for Franciscan’s Division III athletic teams, the event will feature three members from the “Miracle on Ice” team, along with Phil Bourque, a two-time Stanley Cup champion with the Pittsburgh Penguins. ESPN broadcaster and former Steubenville native John Buccigross will serve as master of ceremonies for the sixth time.

Dinner reservations are $65 each or $100 that includes dinner and Baron Club membership. Sponsorship opportunities range from $500-$10,000 and include the opportunity for autographed hockey pucks and a photo with the speakers and Buccigross. Shenandoah 3, Harrison Central 2

Shendandoah bested Harrison Central 25-20, 25-18, 21-25, 23-25, 15-10, on Thursday.

McKayla Dunkle led the Huskies with 22 kills and 12 blocks. Lexi Ferguson had 34 assists, Maddy Butler 20 digs and Becca Banks seven kills.
