North Marion ends Oak Glen’s season

FARMINGTON — The Oak Glen girls basketball team fell to top-seeded North Marion, 82-59, during a Class AAA Region 1 Section 1 contest on Tuesday.

Reece Enochs paced the Golden Bears with 23 points and five steals. She also was 7 for 13 from behind the arc. Alayna Kranis netted nine points, while Lizzie Kell added eight.

Olivia Toland had a career-high 35 points for the winners.

Oak Glen trailed by one after a quarter and was within eight at the end of the third quarter.

North Marion will host Weir High on Friday in the Section 1 final.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Brooke 71, Weir High 58

WELLSBURG — The Brooke boys basketball team avenged an early-season defeat to Weir High with a 71-58 victory on Tuesday.

Alex Isinghood paced the Bruins with a game-high 29 points. Cole Sperlazza scored 21, while Ryan Knox added a dozen.

For the Red Riders, Anthony Cross led with 15 points. Jayson Nosko had 11, and Liam Smith chipped in seven.

Friday night’s city championship contest between Madonna and Weir High has been canceled.
