WMC pediatrician Massella named one of Pittsburgh’s best

WEIRTON — Dr. Elizabeth Massella is one of Pittsburgh’s Best Doctors, according to Pittsburgh Magazine.

Massella, who specializes in pediatrics and adolescent medicine, was selected among physicians in 75 specialties and is recognized among the best in the pediatrics-general category. Those selected are chosen by their peers, while other metrics are used in the selection process, officials with the magazine said.

She is a graduate of Yale University and Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. She completed her residency in pediatrics at University Hospitals Rainbow Babies and Children’s in Cleveland. She is board certified in pediatrics and serves as assistant clinical professor of pediatrics at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.

WMC Primary Care, under Massella’s direction, uses the family centered medical home model. That means her office serves as a central resource for the needs of children. Massella works with parents to plan care and set goals. She and her staff work closely with parents and other care providers to coordinate care. She and her staff are able to link children with the best pediatric specialists.

Massella has been selected as the Lee Bass Community Preceptor of the Year for 2017 by residents and faculty of Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh.

Her office offers same-day appointments and is located next to Shop n’ Save at 400 Market Place Drive, Imperial.

The office staff includes Michelle Burda, a registered nurse, and Lori Stickley, office assistant, and can be reached at (724) 218-1931.
