STEUBENVILLE — A local chapter of Business Networking International is set to formally launch in the coming weeks.

BNI is a business and professional referral organization that allows only one person from each profession to join a chapter. In 2014, the Ohio region of BNI passed along almost 127,000 referrals within the 146 local chapters. These referrals generated more than $103 million in profits for the 3,400 members of BNI Ohio.

The local group meets from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. each Thursday at Damons Restaurant and welcomes anyone interested joining or looking for information to attend. Current members are finding success from the referrals they have begun passing on to one another since the group formed in February, officials said, adding success for each member is based on “the giver’s gain concept.”

Each member in BNI recommends other BNI members to anyone they meet who could use their services or products.
