WEIRTON -- An AARP safe driving class will be held from 8:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sept. 23 at the Christ United Methodist Church located at 3598 Pennsylvania Ave.
The class is geared toward older adults who may or may not be experiencing problems with diminishing vision, hearing and reaction time. The rules of the road will be reviewed, along with safe driving techniques. Most insurance agencies may offer a discount on vehicle insurance premiums to those who have completed the course.
Space is limited to 20 people, and registration is first-come, first-served.
There is a $15 fee per AARP member and a $20 fee per nonmember for the class, which covers the cost of classroom materials. The fee must be paid prior to attending the class. Make checks out to AARP, including the membership number on the memo line if applicable, and mail them to Mel Vorhees, 3628 Morgan Drive, Weirton, WV 26062.
