Brightway Center seeks youth
leaders for advisory council
RAYLAND -- Brightway Center is searching for up to 12 inspiring youth leaders from area high schools to form the Brightway Teen Advisory Council with applications being accepted through Nov. 30.
The Brightway Teen Advisory Council will offer 12 teens from diverse backgrounds a chance to participate in a local leadership development program, while acting as ambassadors for Brightway Center and serving as leaders in their community, officials said.
"The council is being created to elevate the youth voice and contribute to Brightway Center programming, while providing young people with a unique opportunity to be drivers of their own ideas from conceptualization to implementation and reflection," it was noted.
Brightway is looking for teens in grades nine through 12 who are interested in partnering with other teens from around the area who are passionate about making a difference. Council members are required to demonstrate a strong commitment to volunteerism, philanthropy and the Brightway mission of sharpening minds, strengthening bodies and fostering spirit. Members also will be encouraged to represent Brightway at community events.
Students interested in applying should be enrolled in grades nine through 12 and be able to commit to attending all scheduled meetings. Community, youth and faith-based organizations and educators are invited to encourage youth who are interested in applying to fill out an application, which can be downloaded from www.brightwaycenter.org. The council members will be announced in late December.

Information also can be obtained at www.wvtreasury.com or by calling (800) 642-8687.
