Weirton church to host

five-week HOPE project

WEIRTON — First United Methodist Church, located at the corner of West Street and Lee Avenue in Weirton, will hold a five-week summer HOPE project for children in the downtown community.

The project will be held from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. every Tuesday and Thursday, beginning June 5.

On Tuesdays, the children will have a fitness class, and Thursdays will involve a youth bible video study.

The summer project is made possible through a Grant the Children Ministries applied for from The United Methodist Foundation of West Virginia.

The children will be provided a light snack and drink.

Strawberry festival June 23

at Wintersville UMC

WINTERSVILLE — Wintersville United Methodist Church, located at 702 Main St., will host its annual strawberry festival from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on June 23.

The fundraiser will include a variety of sandwiches, sides, and strawberry shortcake.

All proceeds will benefit the outreach committee.

St. Joseph the Worker plans

annual three-day garage sale

WEIRTON — St. Joseph the Worker Church is organizing its annual garage sale to be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on June 14-16.

Ushers of Shiloh Apostolic

plan prayer breakfast fundraiser

WEIRTON — The ushers of Shiloh Apostolic Assembly will have a prayer breakfast fundraiser on June 9, beginning at 9:30 a.m. in the fellowship hall at 3000 Weir Ave.

The fundraiser is open to the public.

The menu will consist of chicken, waffles, sausage (turkey or pork), eggs, grits, toast, juice or coffee. The meal cost is $12 for adults and $7 for children age 10 and younger. Tickets can be purchased from any usher or at the event.

Evangelist Delores King from Christ the King Ministry, Weirton, will be the guest speaker. D.W. Cummings is the church pastor.

Handmade greeting card

WEIRTON — First United Methodist Church will hold a handmade greeting card workshop from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on June 23.

Participants will make 10 cards. The cost is $20. No experience is necessary, and coffee and doughnuts will be provided. The class is limited to 15 people. To make a pre-paid reservation, contact Judy at (304) 491-0043 to make your prepaid reservation. Class limited to 15 people.

Music on the Deck lineup set

at Gathering Place Coffee Shop

BURGETTSTOWN — The Gathering Place Coffee Shop at Paris Presbyterian Church, 127 Steubenville Pike, Paris (Burgettstown), has announced performers who will be part of the Music on the Deck lineup this summer.

The Friday concerts begin at 7 p.m., and participants are invited to bring a lawn chair for the outdoor event. In case of inclement weather, the concerts will be moved indoors.
