Area man linked to bank break-in turns himself in
CHESTER — An East Liverpool man wanted in connection with a Chester bank break-in early Sunday morning has turned himself in.
Chester police issued a warrant for the arrest of Shawn A. Sanchez, 19, on Sunday and forwarded a copy to East Liverpool police.
Chester Police Chief Todd Murray said Sanchez turned himself in at the Hancock County Sheriff’s Department on Tuesday. He was released on a $10,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Hancock County Magistrate Court on Oct. 28.
Sanchez faces one felony count of entry of a building other than a dwelling in connection with the burglary of the Northern Hancock Bank & Trust, 715 Carolina Ave., early Sunday morning.
Sanchez got away with a minimal amount of cash and left a trail of blood and broken glass at the bank.
Police were alerted to the break-in by the bank president and the alarm company.
