NEW CUMBERLAND — The John D. Rockefeller IV Career Center will be offering evening classes in the coming weeks for the following:

• Seasonal Craft Class, 6-8 p.m. Thursdays, beginning today and continuing Oct. 26, Nov. 16 and Dec. 14. The cost is $100 for all four classes. Elissa Greathouse will teach a fall seasonal craft class, with the first class featuring a seasonal wreath.

• Beyond Basic Photography, 6-8:30 p.m. Thursdays, beginning Oct. 26 and continuing Nov. 2, 9 and 16. The cost is $50 for all four classes. Taught by Audrey Shaw, the four-session course is geared toward those photographers with a general understanding of their camera, but who desire to have more confidence in the use of various camera settings and gaining better control.

• Auto technology class, 5-7 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning Oct. 3. The cost is $150 and will be a total of 40 hours.

Taught by Jeff Hardy, this class will provide hands-on instruction, along with classroom theory in brakes, engine repair and alignments.

Students will be eligible to take the Student ASE tests, and prepared to pass the West Virginia Inspectors Exam upon completion.

• TASC/GED and TABE testing, 9 a.m. to noon Tuesdays and Wednesdays; 5-8 p.m. Tuesdays and Wednesdays. There is no charge.

• Adult CDL class, 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, with evening and weekend classes available upon request. The cost is $3,500 for CDL and $500 for bus.

The CDL Class is a 12-week comprehensive training program in the career field of Commercial Truck Driving. Emphasis is placed on development of the basic skills and knowledge needed to drive a tractor-trailer and/or bus safely, efficiently and legally. Contact the instructors at (304) 564-9009.
