Caliope Galiotos, 77, loving wife, mother and yia-yia, passed away on Saturday, January 14, 2017.
Born on November 30, 1939, in Weirton, WV, Caliope was a daughter of the late John and Mary Ann Babasina Epsilantis.
Caliope will always be remembered as a caring wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed baking and cooking for her friends and family and for her church. She truly cherished her time spent with her grandchildren.
She was a very active member of the All Saints Greek Orthodox Church, where she was past president of the Daughters of Penelope; a member of the All Saints Seniors, a former den mother for the Boy Scouts, spent countless hours baking and preparing food for the annual Greek festival.
Caliope is survived by her husband, James Galiotos, whom she married on July 6, 1958; their family, which includes son Dino and Mary and their children, Katarina and James; son Bill and Paulette and their children, Karilynn and Billy; daughter Kathy and Mark Allocca, and their daughter, Sophia; daughter Maria and James Miller, and their daughter, Demetra; and daughter, Christina and Michael Musser and their sons, James-Michael and Steven.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV
Additional visitation will be held Wednesday 10 a.m. until time of services at 11 a.m. at the All Saint Greek Orthodox Church, Weirton
Interment will follow at Chestnut Ridge Cemetery, Florence, PA
Memorial contributions may be made to the All Saints Greek Orthodox Church or to the American Diabetes Association.
