Dr. Anton Ros

ROS, Dr. Anton, 67, of Wintersville, died Tuesday, May 23, 2017, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh.

He was born July 4, 1949, in Bratislava, Czechoslovakia.

He came to the United States in 1968. He graduated from the College of Steubenville in 1972 WV School of Osteopathic Medicine in 1982 and did his internship at Cuyahoga Falls General Hospital.

He went into Family Practice in 1983 in Weirton, WV, on Palm Drive where he remained for 30 years. On Feb. 2013 he joined Change Inc. Dr. Ros was also the physician for a group home in Steubenville from 2003-2010. He also worked Brooke and Hancock Family Planning Clinics from 1985- 2012. He was Medical director of Fox Nursing home from 2005-2006 and Brightwood Center from 1993-2002.

He was on the staff at Weirton Medical Center and Life Line Hospital and previously at Trinity Health Systems, East Liverpool City Hospital, Alliquippa Hospital and Weirton Osteopathic Hospital. He was licensed in WV, Ohio and previously Pa. He was a member of the AOA and VOMA. His past certifications were the American board of Osteopathic Family Physicians and the American Medical Directors Assoc. He had also been a member of Weirton Rotary.

He was married to Lynne McGoldrick Ros and leaves behind four children, Melissa (Mark) Sigley, Sgt Maj. Timothy Ros, Michael Ros, Katina (Eric) Myers, eight grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren, a brother, Dr. Emil J. Ros and a sister, Maria Poss.

He was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Emil Ros and his mother, Uliana Hvizdakova Ros and a daughter-in-law, Teresa (wife of Timothy).

Calling hours are Friday 3-7 p.m. at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd. Steubenville. A Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Msgr. Kurt Kemo, celebrant. There will a vigil service at 3:45 p.m. Friday. Burial will be Private.
