Kathleen Patricia Azzaro Voice, 71, of Morgantown, WV, passed away peacefully in her home on Saturday, August 26, 2017.
Born May 13, 1946 in New York City to the late Dr. Richard Rose and Constance Rose Panagakis.
She is survived by her devoted sons, James Azzaro, of Pittsburgh, and Christopher (Lisa) Azzaro of Morgantown; as well as her four grandchildren, Alana and Joseph of Pittsburgh, and Michael and Nicholas of Morgantown. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Gerald Voice of Naples, Fla.; and her loyal canine companion, Cherie.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Calmon Voice; her brother, Richard Rose; and her granddaughter, Kristen Nicole Azzaro.
Kathy, as she was known to friends and family, enjoyed a successful career in banking, achieving leadership roles and eventually becoming a business owner. She began as a bank teller at Suncrest National Bank, rising through the ranks to hold senior leadership positions at First National Bank of Morgantown, as well as SunTrust in Naples, FL. While in Florida, Kathy and Cal operated a successful mortgage company, Stockton, Turner & Voice, for 20 years. This career afforded her the opportunity to travel the world and indulge her greatest interests and curiosities.
She was a strong and independent person who overcame many obstacles in her life. She was successful in spite of a hearing disability, a survivor of pancreatic cancer and other health related issues. She served as an inspiration to many.
She was a loving and wonderful mother and grandmother. Kathy was an expressive, happy person, who could make you laugh and always lit the room with her smile. She dearly loved her grandchildren and spending time with her dog, Cherie.
Kathy was loved by many, and will be missed for years to come.
Friends may join the family to honor Kathy's life and legacy at Smith Funeral & Cremation Care, 108 Holland Ave., Morgantown, on Wednesday, August 30 from 4 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 7 p.m. with Father John V. DiBacco officiating. Following the funeral service, she will be cremated.
