After announcing the 2022 fall sports division breakdowns on Monday, the Ohio High School Athletic Association announced the divisions for the the 2022-23 winter sports seasons on Tuesday.
In basketball, one local boys team and one girls team moved up, while the rest stayed the same.
On the boys side, Buckeye Local moves up from Division III to Division II, the breakdown from the OHSAA said, due to incresed enrollment. The Panthers remain in Division III in girls basketball.
Moving up a division in girls basketball is Harrison Central, from Division III to Division II, also due to an increse in enrollement. The Huskies remain in Division III in boys basketball.
Big Red remains in Division II in boys and girls basketball, as does Indian Creek, while Edison remains in Division III and Catholic Central and Toronto each stay in Division IV.
There was also a change in boys wrestling, as like it has in football and boys basketball, incresed enrollment moves Buckeye Local up a division, as the Panthers go from Division III to Division II.
Big Red and Indian Creek remain in Division II, while Edison and Harrison Central stay in Division III.
