Vehicles on state Route 7 passed under the girders that will form the Ohio approach to the new Ohio River bridge between Brilliant and an area of state Route 2 just south of Wellsburg. Crews put the girders into place Wednesday morning, and the Ohio Department of Transportation has advised work in the area could result in 15-minute closures through Thursday. The $131 million project is expected to be completed later this year. — Warren Scott
