Wild ride: A North Sixth Street resident claimed someone in a black Lincoln Navigator took a shot at him in a midtown parking lot, Tuesday. Police found no evidence that anyone had fired a gun, so they gave the man a ride to his apartment. Forty-five minutes later they had to return to his building after a caller reported a man taking his clothes off. When they got there the man was putting his shorts back on and said the person he was supposed to stay with was not home, so police gave him a ride to the City Rescue Mission. Police spoke with the same man Tuesday after residents at Gaylord Towers said a man was damaging books in their library. He told police someone let him in the building, and he was "pulling off the paperbacks because he did not like the books." He was told he'd have to leave the property and not return. A male without a shirt was "threatening people and acting delusional" at Fort Steuben, Tuesday. He was taken to the hospital for evaluation.

She was transported to the hospital, and the drug task force and detectives arrived to handle the investigation, police said. A report at the sheriff's department indicated the woman died.
Money for nothing: A city resident said a man is harassing her for money, Tuesday. She said the man "keeps calling, demanding she and (a male friend) return his money" from an incident earlier in the week in which he claimed he'd paid them $50 for drugs but were given laundry detergent. She and her male friend had said the man's girlfriend had owed them the $50 and refused to return it. Police told her to document the harassment and if it doesn't stop, obtain a protection order.

Sober up: Deputies were dispatched to a Rayland residence after a caller reported a disturbance, Monday. She said they'd been arguing over Xanax she'd been prescribed but doesn't like taking. She told deputies She said she does have anxiety issues and is seeing a therapist, but he was "forcing her to go to doctors to receive prescriptions due to his addiction," deputies said.
