STEUBENVILLE -- Several Steubenville Art Association members were award winners and participants in the 2020 Tuscarawas County Art Guild Fall Exhibit in New Philadelphia.

At the opening COVID-safe reception held at the Tuscarawas County Center for the Arts on Nov. 14, Vivian Mosley, art guild president, presented the Best of Show award to William Koch of Dennison for his non-objective painting "Me Inside Myself."

Koch, an SAA member and chair of the Tuscarawas County Art Guild Exhibition, also won a merit award for mixed-media with "A Midnight Stroll."

Paula Siebieda of Bellaire won an award of excellence for acrylic with "Cathedral of the Blessed Mother," and Gina Judy of Richmond won a merit award for "The Hardedge of Weirton Steel" acrylic on canvas.

Paul Hornung of Steubenville, a longtime SAA member and show participant, also was in attendance at the reception. Also included in the exhibit but not in attendance were SAA members Jon Cooper of Toronto, Jeanne D'Anniballe of Steubenville, Bob Watson Jr. of Weirton and Jim Watson of Steubenville.

Jurors for the event were artist Jon Stucky, also featured in a one-man exhibit on the second floor of the center, and Jeannine Kennedy, the center's executive director of the center.

The show continues at 461 Robinson Drive S.E., New Philadelphia, through Dec. 15.

Juror Ted Nuttal, as a recognition of excellence, invited a work by Gina Judy of Richmond for inclusion in the online South Carolina National Exhibition -- a traveling exhibition involving display in various locations.

The exhibition is coordinated by the South Carolina State Museum.

The work is a "Nursing Home Series II: Dad's 'Golden Years' Not So Golden."

Vice president of the SAA, Judy recently was awarded a finalist certificate of award in the selective international Camelback Online Gallery "Architecture 2020" with winners from Canada, Sweden, Italy, Germany, England, Ukraine and 15 states in the United States and a first place in the Rhode Island Watercolor Society Juried Exhibit "Paint What You Love," currently being held at the gallery located in Pawtucket, R.I.

Judy has two pieces in the exhibit -- a watermedia and an acrylic on canvas. From the Montana Watercolor Society National Show, she received a merchandise award and also recently received a best-in-category (architecture) award and juror's award in the McMurray Art League Juried Exhibit, which this year is online.

She also has two architectural pieces of Frank Lloyd Wright's Fallingwater in the gallery at the Mill Run, Pa., location, receiving a merit award in that Pittsburgh Watercolor Society group juried show of pieces done of that location. "Deck View at Fallingwater" is the title. This show will be on exhibit at Fallingwater through Dec. 31, and Paula Siebieda, a new member of PWS, also has two pieces in the exhibit.
