orders for Christmas cookies
WELLSBURG -- Christ Episcopal Church in Wellsburg is taking orders for its annual Christmas cookie sale.

Fundraiser quarter auction
on Nov. 21 in Follansbee
FOLLANSBEE -- The Follansbee Community Days Committee is organizing a fundraiser quarter auction.
It will be held Nov. 21 at the Follansbee Community House. Doors open at 12:30 p.m. with bidding beginning at 1:30 p.m.
The fundraiser will include a Chinese auction and a 50/50 drawing. Refreshments will be available.
Night at the Races on Nov. 13
to aid Bernie's Kids toy drive
WELLSBURG -- The Brooke County Deputy Sheriffs Association will hold a Night at the Races on Nov. 13 at the Wellsburg Banquet Hall, with proceeds going to the Bernie's Kids toy drive.
Doors will open at 6 p.m., with the races to start at 7 p.m. Admission is $10, which includes food and beverages. Those who bring a toy will receive a free bet.
There will be a Chinese auction and 50-50 drawing.
Book club to meet Nov. 18
WELLSBURG -- The Brooke County Public Library Book Club will meet in person and virtually at 5 p.m. Nov. 18 to discuss David Baldacci's "The Innocent: A Novel."
Participants will receive the book they will discuss in January, as the group won't meet in December.

Christmas bazaar starts Friday
WEIRTON -- A Christmas bazaar will be held at the Hancock County Salvation Army at 800 Cove Road, Weirton.
It will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. over a four-day period that includes Friday and Saturday and Nov. 12 and 13.
Wreaths sought for drawing
WELLSBURG -- Brooke Hills Parks seeks donations of wreaths for its Christmas drawing to benefit activities held there for children.
The wreaths will be displayed in the park's clubhouse during the holiday season, with chances on them sold for $1 each or six for $5.

Fantasy film to be screened
