Steubenville Police Flamed out: A city resident is facing multiple charges after he allegedly threatened his neighbors in the 1200 block of Lincoln Boulevard and doused one of their homes in gasoline, Saturday. Police said when they arrived, they found a “large group of people” outside who said a man “was currently in the woods and had just poured gasoline on one of their homes.” They reported they’d had to respond to multiple calls in that block several times earlier in their shift, with neighbors reporting he’d said he was “tired of his neighbors because they were drug ...

Steubenville Police Dog rescued: A resident in the 1200 block of Arlington Avenue gave police video of a neighbor striking his pitbull with objects on two occasions, Friday. Police said in one video he swung a black backpack “very hard at the animal” when it wouldn’t go back in the house on Nov. 4 and then two days later, “took a full plastic water bottle and threw it at the animal.” Police said on both occasions the dog “cried out” and ran off. Steubenville Police Cold wave: A man was seen sleeping near Seventh Street Plaza, Thursday. Police said they had to advise him to "gather his things and find somewhere else to stay." Items recovered, man charged: A black backpack with an individual's personal papers and an iPad inside was stolen from a car in the 500 block of Washington Street, Wednesday. The owner had placed air tags in the backpack and on the iPad and was able to track the location of the stolen items, so they were able to recover both of the missing items.
