We’re not invincible

To the Editor, Has humanity degraded into a comedy of errors. The gods of punditry spew every night as news in their state of pleasurable sensation of making believe they are the gods of righteousness. Climate change is the same as usual. It’s just reacting to which way the wind blows and humans are getting in the way. On second thought, maybe the Creator of the human project realizes what a monstrosity He has created. Putin wants Ukraine, Trump wants the world, and maybe it’s time to end it all. Matthew 25:13. One will never know the day or hour. America, God shed His ...

A solution to the problem

To the Editor, The pundits on TV and in print are wringing their hands about the horrible problem at the border with thousands of immigrants entering the country illegally. I would be wringing my hands if they were not entering the country. China, Cuba, Venezuela, and North Korea have no immigrant problems other than their citizens trying to escape. The vast majority of them are coming here not to destroy America but to make a better life for themselves. Although many pay two or three years of their income to come here, the return on the investment can be five times that ...

Were you planned?

To the Editor, How many babies are “planned”? How many mothers wish they had aborted their babies? How many humans wish they had been aborted? Were you “planned”? What if you hadn’t been given the choice of life?” Diane M. Stankiewicz Weirton

The Baby Boomers

To the Editor, Okay. We the folks of the ages of 60 to 70, and beyond, are considered as those children that were born after World War 2. In this time, the following happened. New housing development. New jobs. Economy was on the rise. New gadgets on the market. Television. Transistor radios. Reel to reel tape recorders, 8 track players, turntables, and cameras. A few years later we saw instamatic cameras and video cameras. Fast forward to calculators, VCRs, microwaves, cassettes, CDs, and DVDs. Now today has arrived. As we approach those golden years, you’ll see: gold ...

The planning and preparations take many hours and many hands to work many hours. But it is a very satisfying feeling for the church members to see people enjoying the delicious peaches and enjoying a day of relaxation.. Again, thank you to Weirton and the surrounding area for your support. Dorothy Hawkes Secretary, St. Thomas Episcopal Church Weirton

Trump needs help

To the Editor, Father Ed, yes, I was an altar boy, always started the reading of the Gospel with one word — wisdom — and then began reading. It should not be surprising to understand quite a few world leaders in history have ended up mad men. Former President Donald Trump does not need a prison — he needs a mental facility. Not even Sean Hannity, with any honesty, can extend the former president the dignity of forgiveness for is unpredictable and sometimes-dangerous behavior. Trump needs help, not praise. Who will win the day — wisdom-seekers seeking peace in Heaven’s ...
