Hospitals say COVID-19 protocols prepare them for potential surge

In May, the number of COVID-19 cases in Douglas County, Kan., increased by 14, from 52 to 66. In June, the number of cases increased by 63, bringing the total to 159. Hancock, Brooke counties report new coronavirus cases

As a spike in COVID-19 cases has led Gov. Jim Justice to order residents to wear masks when indoors with the exception of homes, officials in Hancock and Brooke counties have reported new cases over the weekend. On Monday the Hancock County Health Department reported six new confirmed cases over the weekend, bringing the number of active cases to nine.
