Mr. and Mrs. Kim Ford

NEW CUMBERLAND — Mr. and Mrs. Kim Ford, formerly of New Cumberland, celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary during a party held in their honor on Dec. 8 at the VFW in Weirton.

Ford and the former Jean Gaston were united in marriage on Dec 15, 1948, in Cumberland, Md.

He is the son of the late Alvy and Bertha (Trader) Ford of Salem, W.Va. He retired from Weirton Steel in 1982 after 35 years of service and moved to Yankee Camp, Salem, W.Va.

She is the daughter of the late Mabel and Luther Smearman and the late James F. Gaston.

They are the parents of seven children: Donna Snider and Crystal Dobosz, both of Weirton; James K., Richard D. and Barbara Young, all of New Cumberland; and Dorene Ash and Brad Ford, both of Clarksburg. They have 16 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
