Walt and Toni Kukura

FOLLANSBEE — The family of Walt and Toni Kukura of Follansbee has announced the couple will celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary Wednesday, saying, “this extraordinary achievement is a testament to their enduring love, commitment and partnership.”

The couple’s love story began while attending Follansbee High School, where Toni was a sophomore and Walt, a senior. After dating for five years, the two exchanged vows on Oct. 8, 1955, at St. Anthony’s Church in Follansbee.

Residing in a home they built on Titus Street in Weirton, they welcomed three children, David, Joan and Diane, raising them in the values of love, kindness and family. Today, the couple resides in Follansbee’s Highland Hills, taking pride in their granddaughter, Devan, and their great-granddaughter, Camryn.

Friends, family and the community are invited to join in congratulating the Kukuras on this milestone, as theirs is a love story that is a shining example for future generations. The Kukura’s children are helping their parents to celebrate seven decades with one another by bringing together more than 100 guests for an anniversary party at Froehlich’s Classic Corner Sunday.
