STEUBENVILLE -- Lisa Paolucci of Brilliant is using her more than 30 years of title and banking experience in a new business venture, the Title Co. Ltd. in downtown Steubenville.

The business' newest office, located 108 S. Fourth St., opened in April, and Paolucci, branch manager, said the local office has a wide coverage area and services many counties. A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held Wednesday.

The Title Company Ltd. is qualified to close residential and commercial transactions statewide and is underwritten by Old Republic National Title Insurance Co. and First American Title Insurance Co., she noted.

"We are committed to delivering exceptional results and quality service to clients, and pride ourselves on precise and accurate detail concerning complicated closings as well as completing closings as expeditiously as possible," she said.

The title firm was formed by Tammy Besece, Paolucci's sister, in 1999, as a full service title and closing company.

The sisters grew up in Dillonvale and graduated from the former Buckeye South High School.

Besece, who now lives in Columbus, has been in the title insurance business since 1986. She is a licensed underwriter with the Ohio Department of Insurance and is a past president of Columbus Commercial Real Estate Women. She also is a member of American Land Title Association, Ohio Land Title Association, Better Business Bureau and past president of the Central Ohio Land Title Association. She formed a company in Hocking County called Rock House Title Co. LLC that serves Hocking and surrounding counties.

"Basically, we do record searches at courthouses, making sure there's nothing attached to a house, like a three-year old tax lien," Paolucci said, adding the business handles loan closings for banks.

"We are licensed with the state and have searchers who can go to the different county courthouses," she noted.

"I'm excited to be back in my home area," Besece noted.

"We want to be the best title company in town. So, Realtors, lenders, attorneys and developers, give us a call."

The business can be reached at (740) 275-4441. Office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays.

The sisters said an open house is planned from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sept. 7.

"I'm looking forward to growing the businesses and adding employees," Paolucci added.
