10 area graduates selected to receive Holtz Life Improvement Scholarships
EAST LIVERPOOL — Several area 2020 high school graduates have been chosen to receive Life Improvement Scholarships administered by the Lou Holtz/Upper Ohio Valley Hall of Fame.
The annual tuition reimbursement scholarships are for two-year trade schools. Each of the scholarships is for $5,000 the first year, and is renewable for an additional $5,000 the second year as long as the recipient remains a student in good standing with the school.
Those students marked with an asterisk also were selected to receive a matching scholarship from their trade school.
¯ Mackenzie Reynolds from Edison High School will be attending OVCT for nursing.
¯ Skylier Roberts from Quaker Digital Academy will be attending New Castle School of Trades for welding.
¯ Jakob McCombs from Madonna High School will be attending Pierpont Community and Technical College for electric utility technology.
¯ Kara Boone from Southern Local High School will be attending Ohio Valley College of Technology for nursing.
¯ Maisie Dowell from Buckeye Local High School will be attending OVCT for dental assisting.
¯ Paige Walker from Oak Glen High School will be attending OVCT for medical assisting.
¯ Logan Reed from Beaver Local High School will be attending OVCT for business administration.
¯ Nate Spellick from Beaver Local High School and Columbiana County Career and Technical Center will be attending PTC for information technology.
¯ Ryan Morale from Edison High School will be attending PTC for film production.
¯ Madalyn Betteridge from East Liverpool High School will be attending PTC to become a therapeutic massage practitioner.
