Scammer: A Jefferson County resident’s bank froze his account Tuesday when he tried to send money to an individual overseas who said his help was needed in recovering $80,000 he said the Nigerian government had seized, Tuesday. The man said the scammer, who identified himself as “Bekky Desmound,” claimed the only way to recover the money was through a beneficiary. The local man had agreed to help and was in the process of transferring money to them when his bank intervened.
Recovered: Officers found a debit card in a parking lot on County Road 46, Sunday.
Choices: Deputies investigating a disturbance in Knox Township said the man told him he was upset because a woman who was supposed to be mowing the lawn was riding an ATV instead, Tuesday.
