Jefferson County sheriff

Runaway: A Smithfield Township resident reported that a juvenile family member that is on probation ran away from home, Monday.

Stolen: A Dillonvale resident reported that his license plate had been stolen from his sports car while it was parked at a family member’s house, Monday.

Steubenville police

Overdose: Police responded to a vehicle stopped in the roadway at the intersection of Washington and Fourth streets, Monday. According to the report, police were alerted that two individuals inside the vehicle might be overdosing. The officer said that as he approached the vehicle, he observed it to be in drive and the driver of the vehicle to appear “lifeless” and have blue lips. The passenger was “flailing” and a dog was preventing the officer from opening the door, the report said. Eventually the male came to and controlled the dog so the officer could administer aid to the driver.

According to the report, the driver’s pulse had faded and they stopped breathing. The fire department arrived and administered two doses of nasal narcan to the driver, who gained consciousness. The passenger refused treatment.

The driver consented to a urine test and signed a drug treatment form. They told police they had told their doctor that if they were not prescribed pain pills for their ongoing health problems, they would have to turn to “street drugs” and what they had purchased was “stronger” than they thought. Wendy K. Grimm, 49, 901 Bank St., Toronto, was cited for operating a vehicle under the influence.

Radio waves: Police responded to the 1500 block of Ridge Avenue where a woman reported “they” were sending “radio waves” through her body, Monday.

Beer caper: A beer delivery driver reported someone stole five packs of beer from his pallet while he making a delivery, Monday.

Unwelcome: A resident of the 800 block of Lincoln Avenue reported seeing on a security camera a young man looking in their windows and trying to open the front door, Monday.

Wallet heist: A man reported that a female stole his wallet containing approximately $2,000 cash and his credit card while he was sleeping, Monday.
