Found: Police responded to the discovering of a deceased female in an apartment in the 700 block of Market Street, Friday. Police gathered information and turned the investigation over the detectives division.
Stolen: Police responded to a report of a stolen water meter on the 1500 block of Euclid Avenue, Friday. According to the report, police were advised by a resident that water to a residence was turned off and the meter taken between 9 and 10 a.m. The resident was able to provide police with names of people they suspected had taken the meter. The resident advised they allowed the individuals named to use their restroom on occasion and had done so prior to realizing the water was not working. The resident told police she had talked to a local scrap yard who said the individuals had been there and their vehicle was broke down in the proximity. Police located the vehicle, and an employee of the scrap yard gave police the meter, which matched the serial number of the one in question and had been scrapped with a bucket of copper pipes. Police were unable to locate the individuals in question.
Food fight: Police responded to a disturbance on the 500 block of Ohio Street, Friday. Police received a call that a man was screaming at and threatening a female in the street. Police talked to a female who said the man was yelling at her and "threw food on her" and left. She said the man was upset due to her telling him to leave her and another individual alone. She did not wish to pursue charges. Police went to the man's residence and advised him to stay away from the female's residence.
Break in: Police were called by a resident of the 100 block of North Fourth Street who said three individuals kicked in the door, entered the residence and assaulted her, also indicating one of them had a knife. An officer observed the door knob was broken and the deadbolt bent, the report said. Police observed one of the females had a swollen bottom lip and dried blood on her mouth and photographed the damage. The females could not provide any information about the identities of the subjects. One of the females had a bench warrant out of municipal court. Angela M. Jude, 23, 180 North Fourth St., was taken into custody.
Cited: An officer on patrol observed a woman reportedly urinating in a grass field and several other individuals to be assisting her due to her being intoxicated, Saturday. Briawna Dokes, 24, 915 Sherman Ave., was cited for disorderly conduct.
Trouble: Police stopped a vehicle for failing to signal and discovered the driver had an active bench warrant, Saturday. Joshua J. Koerbel, 26, 1426 Belleview Blvd., was taken into custody on a bench warrant for failure to appear out of municipal court and cited for driving under suspension and failure to signal.
Unruly: Police responded to the 2200 block of Powell Avenue in regard to an intoxicated man that was said to be suicidal and would not cooperate with the fire department. The man eventually was taken to the hospital by ambulance after a dispute over wanting to go to a different facility. Police then responded to the hospital where the man was reportedly uncooperative and belligerent. An officer singed a pink slip due to the man's threats of self-harm. The man left his room and was eventually found, refusing to cooperate, eventually kicking and resisting leading to a removable wall being knocked over. Jeffrey S. Horkulic, 56, 2422 Powell Ave., was taken into custody for assault on an officer.
Wanted: Police responded to an overdose and eventually determined the woman had an active warrant, Saturday. According to the report, the woman was unresponsive on the 600 block of North Sixth Street and arrived to another female administering CPR to the female. The female began breathing and was eventually taken to the hospital by Wintersville EMS. Dispatch notified police of the warrant out of Jefferson County and the female was placed on a police hold. Crystal M. Hague, 36, 2614 Sunset Blvd., was arrested on a bench warrant.
Busted: Police were called to a local store in regards to a man "skip-scanning" merchandise. Christopher M. Schwartz, 41, 1205 Jefferson St., was taken into custody on a bench warrant and on a charge of petit theft.
