That's gratitude: A Belleview Boulevard resident said she let a friend stay at her apartment and said when the woman left the following morning she took her debit card, Sunday. She said the woman made an unauthorized $99 cash advance to herself, and now her former houseguest won't return her calls.
Booked: Brandon Bryant, 30, St. Clairsville, possession of heroin and possession of cocaine, Sunday. Bryant was taken into custody after a traffic stop in the 800 block of Oakmont Avenue.
Bad influence: A South Fourth Street resident said juveniles came to her residence to use her phones, and after leaving threw juice and rocks at her window, Tuesday. There was no damage but they did make a mess. Officers caught up to the kids and took them home, where they were released to their mothers. One of the juveniles was related to the woman who let them use her phones.
Funny money: The manager of Sunset Boulevard business said a man handed her $120 to pay for his purchase but the bills were counterfeit, Sunday. She said when she told the man his money was counterfeit he became upset, telling her his boss had paid him with those bills earlier in the day. She said he then left with merchandise he paid for with a $10 bill that was legitimate. She said she kept one of the bogus bills to give to police.
Charged, cited: One person was taken into custody and another cited following a traffic stop in Steubenville Sunday. Vernon M. Smith, 38, no fixed address, was booked on a bench warrant and cited for possession of marijuana. The driver, Christopher Smith31, 965 Rinker Road, Steubenville, was cited for driving under suspension and possession of marijuana. The vehicle they were traveling in was returned to a Mingo Junction resident who had reported it as being taken without authorization.
Vandalism: A Ridge Avenue woman said her dining room window was shot out with a pellet gun, Sunday.

Plus one: A Yorkville woman who had two non-running trucks parked on a lot on county Road 2 told officers the catalytic converters from them were stolen, Friday. She said a friend advised her to check after discovering his was missing. There's been a rash of similar thefts reported in that area.
