Funny money: A tow truck operator told deputies a motorist who used AAA was over her alloted tows and paid the $120 tow fee with two bogus $100 bills, Friday. He said he picked up the disabled vehicle in Mt. Pleasant, and the motorist's boyfriend pulled out a stack of "approximately 20-30 $100 bills and gave (him) two of them." He said he put the money in his wrecker and gave the change to her boyfriend, who only requested $50 of the $80 due him. Once back at his office he realized the two $100 bills were counterfeit. He identified the individuals who gave him the funny money from their social media. Both have outstanding warrants. The owner of the car insists "she didn't even give (the) driver any money, that she still owes money," he said.
Scorched earth: An Empire man complained to deputies that his neighbor cut his grass, Friday. He said the woman cut it too low and it "scorched it" and he's tired of it, but admitted he's never talked to her about it. Deputies spoke with the woman who said she's been cutting the patch of grass he's complaining about for more than 20 years and he never said a word. She told deputies he's on his own now.

Stolen: A car parked at a property in Warren Township, Rayland, was stolen, Friday. The owner said the car, a 2010 Cobalt, wasn't running because of mechanical issues, so she believes someone may have taken it for scrap.
