Pig-scape: A Bergholz woman reported her 700 pound Berkshire bore pig was stolen while she was away from home, Tuesday. Also stolen were two bags of feed, a stainless tub the feed was in and the bore's food dishes. She said the bore is dark grey or black with four white socks and white on the snout and right ear tip.

Not permitted: A deputy driving on County Road 54 towards Jefferson State Lake spotted two people letting off large booming aerial fireworks, Tuesday. The two, who identified themselves as students at Franciscan University of Steubenville, were warned that "fireworks that go in the air with a report are illegal in Ohio" and if they didn't stop, they'd be cited. They apologized.

Too far gone: A Toronto man whose family says he has a history of substance abuse problems overdosed, May 5. Two individuals family members say they'd never seen before ran out of the house saying he'd overdosed and they'd called 911, then fled. First responders said he required four units of Narcan to resuscitate.

Bad karma: A Toronto woman who received what she thought was a random wrong number text, but several days letter received a series of inappropriate messages from the same number offering to pay her $800 in exchange for sexual acts, Monday. The woman did not divulge personal information to the man nor does she believe he knows her real identity, but said she continued messaging him to try to get more information to report to law enforcement. She said she was worried others might fall prey to the man.

Alcohol talking: An Amsterdam woman claimed she'd been assaulted by her 18-year-old son, but she fled before deputies arrived, May 5. Her own mother said the woman showed up at the house "under the influence of something" and began arguing with the teen, but insisted he never laid a hand on her. Another grandchild who witnessed the disagreement also told them the argument was strictly verbal.

Steubenville police

Charged: William Robinson, 55, no fixed address, Steubenville, petit theft, criminal trespass, possession of drug paraphernalia and a pending probation violation through municipal court, Tuesday. Robinson allegedly filled a backpack and a large blue shopping bag with merchandise in Kroger, then left through the pharmacy door without paying and sat down on a bench near the front entrance, police said. When they approached him, officers claim he told them, "Ahhh, you finally got me." Police said the merchandise was valued at $711, and a crack pipe was also found in the backpack.

Not talking: A woman told doctors at the emergency department she'd been hit with a bottle after a street fight, but when she found out they'd called police she left the hospital, Tuesday. Hospital personnel said she refused to say where the fight occurred or who was involved.
