Other side: An East Liverpool man accused of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle said the man who filed the complaint forgot to tell deputies they'd swapped vehicles, Friday. The East Liverpool man said the man from Rayland had agreed to swap his Ford Focus for $800 in cash and a 2002 GMC Envoy, and said he'd given him $200 with the understanding he'd provide the other $600 when he got his Army bonus. Neither of them signed over the titles to their vehicles, and he said the Rayland man still has his 2002 Envoy.
Can't handle it: A Mingo Junction man who had too much to drink became argumentative and punched an aquarium, gashing his arm, Friday. Deputies said his arm was bleeding uncontrollably, so 911 dispatchers attempted to instruct others involved in the incident how to control the bleeding until ambulance crews arrived. Witnesses said he'd been drinking all day and started arguing with his sisters.
Steubenville police
Rude: A motorist said he said a man in a silver truck stopped on the side of the road near the Hawk Fuel station and said his passenger side tires went flat when he hit the curb when he tried to go around him, Sunday. He said the man driving the pickup told him it was too bad and drove off. He said he decided to try to get to his residence, and when he got to the red light at Seventh and Adams streets saw the same silver truck in front of him. He said when the light turned green the truck didn't move so he honked his horn and the driver, a tall, heavy-set white male in his 40s with a grey beard, got out and walked toward him. He said words were exchanged and the man eventually turned to walk back to his truck when he called him a fat (expletive), so the pickup driver turned around and tried to push him back in his car. He told police he kicked the man until he loosened his grip.
Charges: Misty Goray, 45, 1016 Franklin Ave., Steubenville, possession of drug paraphernalia, Sunday. Goray also was issued a drug treatment form after she was found unresponsive in the 1400 block of Pennsylvania Avenue, police said. Firefighters had to administer 14 milligrams of Narcan before Goray had a positive reaction and began to breathe again without assistance, though she remained unresponsive, police said. She was transported to Trinity Medical Center West for further treatment and a crack pipe found in her pocket was confiscated, officers noted.
Stolen: Two bicycles were reported stolen from a property in the 600 block of Ross Street, Sunday. The owner said one was a man's gray bike, the other a woman's blue bike.
Car confusion: A woman who left Lowe's Sunday and got in the wrong car thinks she left her purse in it, Sunday. She told police the vehicle was identical to hers and was parked next to hers. She said her purse contained her drivers license and credit cards.
Charged: Samuel E. Brown, 35, 1219 Tweed Ave., Steubenville, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia after he was found unresponsive next to a Lincoln Avenue residence, Saturday. Police said Steubenville and Wintersville ambulance crews gave him 8 milligrams of Narcan before he began breathing on his own, then transported him to Trinity Medical Center West for treatment. Police said he also was issued a drug treatment form.
Booked: James A. Kelley, 37, 1225 Pennsylvania Ave., Steubenville, bench warrant for failure to appear out of Toronto county court, Saturday.
Stolen: An Oak Grove Avenue resident reported his motorcycle stolen overnight, Saturday. A neighbor reported seeing a white van with blue pinstriping in the area, the victim said the theft should be caught on surveillance cameras. He said the stolen motorcycle is black with red accents and red wheels.
Risky business: A man lying in the roadway in the 700 block of Market Street said he got a ride from Weirton police, Saturday. Officers said his speech was delayed and slurred, so he was taken to the hospital for evaluation.
