Can't get them out: A Dresden Avenue resident reported problems with a female who's been staying with the family for "numerous months," Friday. Police were told there's been "an ongoing household dispute" among family members and the woman. The resident ruled the eviction process out because the family is days away from moving, but called police back on Saturday to report he'd put a family member and two friends on a separate lease but the other residents were refusing to let them into the property. That officer said it's now "a civil matter and needs to be handled accordingly."
Mouthy: A city resident told police a neighbor "continuously bangs on the wall (they share) and yells slurs at them and makes threats to kill them," Friday. Police were unable to make contact with the neighbor.
Teaching moment: Somebody reported seeing a motorist following a juvenile walking on North Sixth Street, Friday. Police spotted the driver following the youth, and found it it was the youth's guardian. She said he was walking to school as punishment for his behavior at home.
Wrong place: Residents in the 900 block of Oxford Boulevard were concerned that two men who came to their door wanted to get inside, Sunday. A homeowner said she asked them what they wanted but couldn't hear their answer through the door, and said while neither of them tried to force the door or threaten her she thought they'd taken a picture of her inside her home. While they were talking to her one of the men approached and told police they were looking for a lost cell phone and their "find my phone" app led them to the residence, but once he saw the age of the residents realized it wouldn't be there.
Gunning it: Callers reported seeing a male carrying a BB gun on the roadway and walking in between houses, Friday. Police located the male, a juvenile, who told them he'd been shooting at pop cans.
Shady: Callers reported two men going door-to-door in the 1800 block of Oregon Avenue, portraying themselves as Tide Detergent representatives, Friday. They were gone when police arrived.
Bottomed out: A female motorist said she was headed to work on U.S. Route 22 when she struck a pile of debris in the roadway, Saturday. She told police the debris pile damaged the undercarriage of her car and the check engine light came on. She said she lost pressure and the vehicle became immobile, and later discovered the oil pan underneath her vehicle was punctured.
Send him packing: A city resident told police she was driving downtown when her child's father grabbed her face, Saturday. She said she parked and they continued arguing on the sidewalk, and at one point he grabbed her and pushed her against the side of a building.
Party's over: Neighbors complained of a loud party in the 1900 block of Majestic Circle, Sunday. Officers located the loud party and the host, who was advised to turn the music down and quiet his guests. Most of them left, police said.
Pay up: The clerk at the midtown Speedway told police two young males came in the store and opened and partially consumed food without paying for it, Sunday. When the clerk asked them to pay, he said they refused and left the store.
Booked: Two city residents were taken into custody after a traffic stop on Washington Street just west of Steel Avenue, Sunday. Police said the driver, Winston C. Buice, 37, 37, 1327 Euclid Ave., Apt. 1, is being held on an outstanding warrant out of Coweta County, Ga. He also was cited for a turn signal violation. His passenger, Ashley Alexander, 29, of the same address was booked for possession of drug paraphernalia, a crack pipe police with residue allegedly found stashed in a cigarette pack in her pocket. The two were allegedly seen at a downtown gas station "snorting something through a straw," police said, adding Buice denied using drugs and no contraband was found on him.
Petty: A Highland Avenue resident said her boyfriend damaged two vehicles she owns, Saturday. He was gone before police arrived.
