Parting company: Three people were arguing in the street in the 200 block of Wheatley Street, Empire, and a woman ran over a male's suitcase twice before fleeing the scene, Sunday. Deputies were able to locate the male with the suitcase, who told them he'd been staying at the residence after being paroled in Columbiana County and had noticed someone driving by the residence "shouting threats" at the owner's daughter's boyfriend. When he messaged various people on social media platforms "to tell the person to stop making threats," he said the homeowner's daughter became upset and hit him in the face twice. He said her dog also bit him, and that the daughter's father and aunt joined the fray. He said he was leaving when she drove over his suitcase, but he wasn't interested in filing charges. He said he was trying to get a ride back to East Liverpool, where family members live, which was a good idea since the homeowner told deputies it was time for him to move on. She said she'd allowed him to stay at her home because he needed a fixed residence to comply with his parole, but said he "can be mouthy" and there'd been problems since he moved in. Her daughter just said she wanted him to stay out of her business. No one filed charges.

Steubenville Police

Bad break: A scuffle erupted in a gas station lot between a man and his former business partner, Sunday. He said the man has been harassing him and making derogatory comments about him and his wife since their falling out, and when the man saw him at the gas station, he taunted him.
