Bad reaction: Two women threw their food at employees at a fast food restaurant, Tuesday. The eatery's manager said the pair had ordered food, then came back around and ordered more, demanding a refund "for part of their previous order after allegedly locating a hair in their food." Employees replaced the first order and gave them their second order, but the women decided they were given the same bag of food that allegedly had a hair in it. The manager said they became upset, drove back through the line "and threw their bag of food" at the attendant, hitting the employee, then left in a white Dodge Charger. Police located the womens' car at a residence three minutes away, but the employee didn't want to pursue charges.
No class: The manager of another restaurant said two people who had a problem with their food insisted they call police but left before officers arrived, Tuesday. The manager said she went to their table to address their concerns and "the male became belligerent and aggressive with her and began loudly cursing at her." When he and his female companion continued their tirade, creating a "loud disturbance," she said she asked them to leave but the pair several times refused to go "and demanded she call the police," but when she did they got up and left, "continuing to yell obscenities at her" as they walked out the door. She said the pair -- a male wearing a black-and-gold Steeler hat and the female with blonde hair, both in their 50s -- were not welcome to return.
Action-reaction: A Market Street resident said she stuck her tongue out at a man with whom she's had an ongoing disagreement so he squeezed her cheeks together with his hands, Tuesday.
He's not worth it: A woman waiting to see a doctor said her ex-husband's current girlfriend "walked in and told her not to look at her," Tuesday. She said it's been an ongoing problem.
Jealous type: A woman on a smoke break and a coworker were assaulted by a woman outside a South Third Street business, Wednesday. She said the two of them were in her car smoking when a woman opened her door and punched her face, then went around to the passenger side and "dragged the male out of his seat and began striking him." The female victim backed out of the parking space and left the lot, driving herself to the police station to report the assault. Police officers said her nose and cheeks were red and she wanted to pursue charges.
Found: A Wellesley Avenue resident said her son, a juvenile, found a suitcase with a counterfeit $100 bill and a baggage claim ticket from the Pittsburgh airport inside, Tuesday. She said he found the case in the alley.
Bold: A man wheeled a shopping cart loaded with $400 in merchandise and left without paying, Wednesday. Employees said the wheels locked up at the door so the man grabbed items from the cart and carried them to a dark red Toyota Corolla, making two trips to retrieve all the stolen merchandise. A woman accompanied by a juvenile exited the store and jumped in the car, they said.
Scared off: A Chestnut Street resident said a man tried to kick in his front door, Tuesday. He said he heard the crash and looked out in time to see a man turn around and start running. Police said the door jam was severely damaged with split wood and plaster on the ground.
Surprise visit: A woman sitting in her living room in the 1000 block of Oak Grove Avenue said a man walked in and asked her, "When did you move here?" and left, Tuesday.
Out of it: Callers reported a man passed out in a vehicle parked at a downtown gas station, Wednesday. Police couldn't wake him, so they did a sternum rub and "shortly after" he woke up. He said he was tired and fell asleep, though police noted his "story changed several times" and his eyes were pin-points and he seemed to "zone in and out while talking" to them. He didn't have any contraband on him or in the vehicle, so police obtained consent from the owner of the vehicle to legally park the vehicle and took the keys from him for safekeeping.
