Steubenville Police
Drinking: Walgreen's employees told police a man took a 12-pack of Miller Lite into the bathroom without paying for it and was drinking it in the stall, Wednesday. Peter A. Macconachie, 57, 228 Ohio St., Apt. 2, Steubenville, was charged with petit theft, police said. Police said by the time they arrived Macconachie had downed three cans but he turned the rest of it over.
Shouldn't be: Callers reported a man sleeping on the stoop of a building in the 600 block of Market Street, Wednesday. Police said the man was clearly homeless and was sleeping under a blanket in front of the building's doors. They woke him and advised him he couldn't sleep in front of the doors and wanted to drive him to the shelter, but he said he didn't need help because he was hitchhiking to Florida. Later, police were called to Third and Dock streets for a man loitering near the high school. The man wasn't on school property, police said, and told them he wanted to get to St. Augustine, Fla., so they gave him a ride to Martins Ferry to get him started.
Fickle: A South Fifth Street resident told police she was being harassed by a woman who is banned from the property, but when they got there she denied calling them and the woman she complained about was already gone, Wednesday.
Fender-bender: A city resident who was driving a car and the vehicle's owner were both cited following a fender-bender in the Wal-Mart parking lot, Wednesday. Police cited Tiffany Jenny, 30, 180 N. Fourth St., Steubenville, for no operator's license, and the owner, Angel Gonzalez, 25, 1340 Oak Grove Ave., Steubenvile, for leaving the scene. Police said the other driver alleged that after the crash, Jenny had "asked (her) not to call the police because she didn't have a license" and said Gonzales came out of the store and started arguing that the accident wasn't their fault, then jumped in the driver's seat of the other car and drove away. Police said they used surveillance video to identify Jenny and Gonzales, who told them she "didn't think (Jenny) was at fault."
Listen up: A female allegedly fled a traffic stop in the 2200 block of Sunset Boulevard on foot, Wednesday. Police were told she entered a fast-food restaurant, and when they went in to look for her saw her running out the other door and continued to run even though they ordered her to stop. Brandy M. West, 31, 1324 Wellesley Ave., Steubenville, was charged with obstruction in addition to being served with a bench warrant for her arrest, police said.
Busted: A woman told police a white Dodge Ram truck struck her car while it was parked in the Wal-Mart lot, Wednesday. She said a bystander who saw the mishap wrote down the license plate number with their contact information and gave it to her to give police.
Kids play: A large group of juveniles were reported in Pico Park, Wednesday. Police said suspects were playing with Orbees guns. Police told them they have to be out of the park by dark, and when they asked where they could go and play police said they had no solution, since wherever they go people will call. Minutes later, callers reported a large group behind the Fort Steuben mall, possibly fighting. Police said they were playing with Orbees guns and several of them had been at Pico Park earlier. They were told the property owners wanted them to leave, and police warned them if they were called again they'd be cited.
Drugs: Police were called to a residence in the 1300 block of Euclid Avenue for an apparent overdose, Wednesday. They said Steubenville firefighters/EMS eventually revived the man with Narcan and he was taken to the hospital for further treatment.
Served: Kahlil Owens, 26, 223 9th St., Steubenville, warrant for failure to appear, Wednesday.
Booked: Brandon M. McLaughlin, 41, 308 Miller Ave., Apt. 9A, Weirton, three warrants for petit theft out of municipal court, Wednesday. Police said they encountered McLaughlin on another call and served the warrants; Aaron P. Fisher, 35, 619 Grandview Ave., Steubenville, municipal court warrant for failure to appear, Wednesday.
Not wanted: A woman in the 100 block of North Fourth Street. said a woman known to her tried to enter her apartment, Monday. She said she was able to shut the door and keep the woman out.
Drugs: An overdose was reported in 800 block of Brady Avenue, Monday. Steubenville firefighters/EMS revived the individual with Narcan, police said, and took him to the hospital for treatment. He was issued a drug treatment form.
Booked: Daniel James McShan, 25, 460 S. Fifth St., Steubenville, possession of drugs, having a weapon under disability and obstruction, Monday. Police said McShan was taken into custody after a foot pursuit.
Code issue: A notice of violation was sent to the owner/occupant of 1403 Wellesley Ave., litter, garbage and junk piled up.
Cited: Brooke Gravelle, 27, 2320 Alexander Manor East, Steubenville, failure to yield on a left turn and expired registration, Monday. Gravelle was cited after a two-car collision on Sunset at Wilshire Boulevard. Gravelle told police she didn't see the other car because its headlights weren't on. The other driver pointed out her headlights are automatic.
Mallory P. Mettenberger, 23, 301 Murphy St., Steubenville, failure to control. Police reported Mettenger told them she struck a parked car in the 1300 block of Euclid Avenue when she reached for her smoothie, Tuesday; Brooke Rujak, 32, 1335 Oak Grove Ave., Steubenville, failure to display; Jermaine Crawford, 25, 1310 Park St., Steubenville, failure to signal right turn/lane change.

Taken: Tools were reported missing from a property in Mount Pleasant, Tuesday. An inventory is being compiled, deputies said.
