Wellsburg Police

Charged: Patrick Q. Long, 51, Cadiz, violation of protective order, Wednesday.

Jefferson County Sheriff

Ashley Lynn Sasak, 39, and Christopher B. Sasack, 42, both of 435 S. Bridge St., Adena, endangering children. The pair allegedly created a "substantial risk to the health or safety" of children through the condition of their home, authorities said.

Steubenville Police

A.W.O.L.: Two juveniles were wandering the 700 block of Market Street, trying to get into their mother's home, Wednesday. The children told police they don't know where their mother is, so a neighbor contacted their grandmother who took custody of them and told police she doesn't know where the woman is, either.

Cooking out: A caller reported seeing smoke coming from a vacant structure in the 200 block of Marsh Alley, Tuesday. She told police before she noticed the smoke and saw a man walking around. Police found the man near a dilapidated structure and when they questioned him, said he admitted he'd fired a small Coleman grill up underneath a tarp so he could cook a meal. He told the officer he'd pack his things up and move on.

Love's grand: A Maryland Avenue woman said her son's girlfriend "threatened (her) and stated she would fight her" and her son had punched a hole in her wall, Wednesday. She said her son was intoxicated, but no mention was made of the girlfriend's condition in the report. She told police she was afraid they'd come back.

Drugs: Police said two people in the 100 block of Wildon Ave. were "actively overdosing," Wednesday. Steubenville firefighters/EMS were already on scene treating the two of them, who police said were "clearly unresponsive" until they were revived with Narcan. The pair admitted snorting cocaine, police said. They were taken to the hospital for further treatment and issued drug treatment forms.

Pilfered: A resident in the 500 block of Cedar Avenue said someone stole his 60-inch television, Wednesday. He told police he thinks the thief entered through his back door, which has a damaged lock.

Kid stuff: A caller reported a juvenile on Washington Street Hill possibly carrying a firearm, Wednesday. An officer found a child carrying a toy rifle at the intersection of Lawson and Orchard Street. Police gave the boy a ride home.

Stolen: A Logan Street resident told police his handgun and two 17-round magazines were stolen from his car, Wednesday. Two long rifles inside cases were laying on the back seat but were not taken.

Cited: Jatna C. Suero, 32, 1615 Pennsylvania Ave., Steubenville, speeding (school zone); Tausha L. Broomfield, 32, Franklin Ave., Steubenville, failure to control and driving under suspension; a vehicle parked in the 700 block of Woodlawn Road was ticketed for parking in a no parking area; vehicles parked in the 1500 block of Oregon Avenue near the Woodlawn Road intersection also were ticketed for parking violations.

Snared: An officer checked into reports a dog was tangled in a trampoline in the 900 block of McKinley Avenue, Wednesday. Police located the dog's owner, who was able to get its leash and the dog untangled.
