Where's the adult: A woman in the 1200 block of Lincoln Avenue told police her two daughters got into an argument with two kids across the street, Sunday. She said it was strictly verbal, but then the father of one of the girls across the street arrived from Mingo Junction and began yelling at her kids so their older brother and his friend yelled back. The father of the other girl then said he would fight them, but he left the area. Police spoke with all the kids and told them to stay away from each other. They also spoke with the father, telling him to stay away.
Could have ended badly: A man gave police a semi-automatic pistol he found on the ground in the 200 block of South Sixth Street, Sunday. He said he saw it in the street directly across from the side door of Club 106 earlier in the morning but continued to a Sunset Boulevard eatery to get two large drinks and drove past again to see if it was still there. The gun was loaded with a shell in the chamber, and he said he tried to make it safe but couldn't. Police did that for him, then locked it in their evidence locker.
Scary: A city resident told police someone was trying to kick in her back door, Sunday. Police said they found shoe prints and dents on the back door as well as the frame near the lock being broken.
Charged: Damon Irizarry. 47, no fixed address, theft and violation of a no contact order, Sunday. Irizarry allegedly took a bottle of iced tea from Family Dollar without paying, then sat on the curb outside another store drinking it.
Booked: Tenell Harris, 28, Steubenville, assault, Sunday. Police responded to the 400 block of South Fifth Street after a hang-up call. Once there, Harris told them another woman has been saying things about her and when she went to confront her, the two of them started fighting so she went over to the other woman's car and began punching her. Police told her the other woman had facial injuries and wanted to purse charges, so Harris was booked into jail without bond.
A man apparently overdosed in the 100 block of North Fourth Street, Sunday. Steubenville firefighters/EMS revived the man with Narcan, but once he was alert he denied taking any drugs.
Good catch: A man was spotted lying in the grass in the 700 block of North Sixth Street, Sunday. He told police he was having a medical emergency and needed assistance, so they called for an ambulance.
Booked: Frank G. Wilson, 54, 180 N. Fourth St., Steubenville, warrant for probation violation, Sunday.
Angry man: A woman who was at Belleview Park told police a man known to her had "punched her in the face and sent her into a seizure," Sunday. A friend who was with her said the male was "calling them derogatory names and then took off his shirt and went to punch" her but hit her friend instead. The right side of the victim's face was red and swollen.
Cited: Joseph Lehman, 45, 1415 Hukill St., Brilliant, failure to control, Sunday. Police said Lehman was cited after a two-car accident at state Route 7 and Franklin Avenue.
Problematic: A loud party was reported in the 800 block of Oakmont Avenue, Sunday. Police told the female hosting the party to turn the volume down.
Booked: Benjamin Delguzzi, 37, 431 Union Ave., probation violation and failure to appear, Friday; Ryan Gooch, 32, no fixed address, criminal trespass; Kenneth Bryant, 38, bench warrant for failure to appear out of municipal court, and warrants out of Toronto county court for assault and a probation violation, Friday; Jeffrey S. Horkulic, 58, 2242 Powell Ave., Steubenville, domestic violence, Friday. Police also served Horkulic with a bench warrant for failure to appear in municipal court; Richard M. Lowe, 30, 364 Saddleback Drive, New Cumberland, bench warrant out of municipal court, Saturday; Otis Allen Jr., 46, 732 N. Sixth St., Steubenville, failure to appear, Saturday.
Code violations: Notices of violation were sent to owners/occupants of properties at 725 N. Fourth St., 1117 Park St., 4025 W. Argonne Ave., 4085 Stratford Blvd. and 329 Kingston Ave.
