Neighborhood watch: A city resident reported a neighbor "has active gang members with loaded handguns" coming on a porch, Tuesday.

Dynamic duo: Detectives reviewed footage of a woman and juvenile who allegedly loaded a shopping cart with $400 in merchandise at Kroger June 9 and tried to leave without paying, Tuesday. They said when the wheels locked up it drew the attention of an employee who walked over to speak with the pair, who told employees they were only trying to grab some Gatorade from a skid in the lobby. Police said they loaded some into their cart and headed to the self-checkout, where an employee kept watch. When the two noticed the employee watching them police said they stopped scanning and left without purchasing anything. Police recognized the woman in the video and said they're pursuing charges "as the intent was clear and the suspects passed the last point of sale."

Arrested: Jaymar Reddix, 22, no street address listed, Steubenville, burglary, Tuesday. Police were dispatched to a residence in the 1300 block of Euclid Avenue (rear) after two men, one with dreadlocks and black pants and the other dressed all in black, were allegedly seen "trying to kick the apartment door in." Police said they saw the men flee the apartment on foot and pursued, and said Reddix was taken into custody at the top of Washington Street hill. Police said the apartment door was "heavily damaged," and when they followed the route the men said they found a .40 Glock on the ground.

Bad to worse: An employee of a repossession company told police he had a Cadillac Escalade he'd been told to reclaim because of missed payments loaded on his truck but not secured when the purchaser "came outside ... entered the vehicle and proceeded to drive the vehicle off the hitch," Tuesday. He said in the process, the man damaged the wrecker hitch/boom as well as the fender on the Escalade. Both parties photographed the damage and, due to the dispute, both were told it was a civil matter.

Spiked: A Sunset Boulevard resident said his Chevy Trailblazer had been vandalized while parked outside his residence, Tuesday. He said he heard a noise and saw a male in a teal-colored Ford near his vehicle, and when he went outside the man pulled away. He said he heard air leaking from his driver's side rear tire and discovered a puncture in the sidewall. Police said the tire appeared to have been punctured by something about an inch wide.

Being a pain: Juveniles were causing a disturbance in a Sunset Boulevard eatery, Tuesday. Police spoke with two employees and two juveniles who were involved. The kids were told to leave the store.

Let it go: An Oak Grove Avenue resident said his neighbor was "yelling and approached his porch, verbally attacking him" about an incident from "some time back," Tuesday. The neighbor said he'd been "making comments" about her son using company equipment to cut their yard. Both of them were advised to say off each other's property.

Stop talking: A Toronto resident said she was at a Sinclair Avenue business when a woman she didn't know began harassing her, Tuesday. She said the woman made comments about her mother, and when she asked her to stop the woman's male friend joined in the harassment. Neither of them threatened her.

Nighty night: A downtown resident complained he treated his residence for bedbugs but management is refusing to reimburse him, Tuesday.

Suspicious mind: A Sherman Avenue resident told police she thinks "someone damaged her car intentionally," Tuesday. Police spotted a nail in her tire and a reflector that was dislodged, but noted the damage did not appear to be from a crash or vandalism.

Noise maker: Police warned a resident in the 400 block of South Sixth Street about a fireworks violation, Tuesday. A caller reported fireworks being discharged, and an officer reported seeing a "smoldering pile" of used fireworks near the residence. The homeowner said she would discontinue use.
