Serenity now: An intoxicated female disrupted the Trinity West emergency department, "causing a disturbance and running through the facility," Tuesday. Police said staff members were trying to de-escalate the situation, but as they approached they could see the woman "swinging her arms at them." They said she was behaving in "a wild and belligerent manner, screaming profanity and kicking at (police) and hospital staff" and had tried to bite an officer's thumb and kicked a nurse in her stomach. Hospital personnel told police she'd been picked up in another county and brought there for treatment due to her intoxication. She refused all treatment "and had been acting in this manner since she was brought there," they said. They had to secure her in a bed due to her being "highly combative," but when the hospital staff tried to treat her she "began to spit at nursing staff, police and security before intentionally urinating" on the guard and on the floor. She was eventually sedated, and police were able to leave.

His father said he told him he'd return the items Monday but didn't, nor did he have the money, either. Police spoke with the son, who first claimed he didn't know the name of the pawn shop, then said he'd given his fathers tools and the $30 to a friend but denied using drugs again. When they pressed him on why he didn't use the $30 to get his dad's shop vac back, he admitted he was back on drugs. His father told police he "is in fear he will return and steal more items (to feed) his drug usage and demand more money."

He claimed his wallet had $600 in it, but police noted he had "a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from his breath as he spoke" and was "having trouble keeping his eyes open" and was swaying. Jefferson County Sheriff
Skipped some details: A caller reported a man revving his engine in front of her residence on county Road 56, Toronto, and called back to claim he'd brandished a firearm and argued with them, Monday. She and two males with her claimed the man got out of his truck and brandished the gun, but admitted he hadn't threatened them with it. The other man had left the scene but flagged officers down and told them a black Jeep came past his residence, stopped and peeled its tires. He said he and his girlfriend went to confirm the Jeep's driver was an individual they'd had problems with in the past and when he pulled into the main drive of the trailer court they were blocking the entrance and using an obscene gesture, then walked up to the passenger side and started screaming at his girlfriend. He admitted he had gotten out to argue with one of them but claimed the man immediately threatened to "go get his guns" so he got back in his truck and left, telling deputies he did not have a gun nor does he own one and offering to let them search "his vehicle, his house, whatever we wanted to search." No gun was found in his truck, and when they talked to his girlfriend she said the men by the Jeep were using an obscene gesture when they pulled in and that it was one of them who threatened to go get his gun. They returned to the property to talk with the individuals who'd called in the complaint, and one of them said he saw the pickup driver brandishing a gun when he got out of his truck and claimed he'd felt threatened, but then admitted he "was not 100 percent certain" it even was a gun. After looking at video of the disturbance, deputies pointed out he and the driver of the pickup had been standing behind the truck arguing "for some time" before he told the truck owner he was going to get guns from the residence.

He said East Liverpool police had reached out to him after a woman asked him to make sure the vehicle she'd just purchased had a clean title. She said a friend of hers had advised her to make sure it wasn't stolen after she bought it from a man.
