Facing charges: A city resident was taken into custody after she allegedly walked into a residence in the 1100 block of Lincoln Boulevard uninvited and attacked another woman, Wednesday. Police said Romina S. Harris, 28, of Oakmont Avenue was booked into the Jefferson County jail on a pending felonious assault charge. The resident said Harris followed her into her apartment and “they began to fight and (Harris) stabbed her,” and police confirmed she was bleeding from wounds to her head and scalp. She told officers she maced Harris, who was on the floor when they arrived. A witness who was at the same apartment to pick up her children told police Harris followed her through the door “without being invited” but she didn’t see the fight. Police also noted the victim had wounds “consistent with being stabbed by an edged weapon,” though they didn’t find one at the scene. Harris requested medical attention because she’d been maced, but the victim said she didn’t require assistance. Three men who showed up at the scene were advised to leave because they were interfering with the investigation, with one of the men yelling at the occupant of the apartment and the other trying to speak with Harris, who police said at one point “stood up and attempted to walk away.”
Booked: A motorist pulled over after police spotted a nonworking registration light was taken into custody on a drug charge, Thursday. Deombre B. Anderson, 21, 1329 Oakgrove Ave., Steubenville, was charged with possession of fentanyl after a bag containing a light purple-colored powder believed to be fentanyl was found between the driver’s seat and center console. Police said Anderson and a passenger refused to consent to a search, but K-9 Puma detected the alleged drugs, giving officers probable cause to search the vehicle. In addition to the bagged substance, police reported finding a “small piece of white rock” was found on the passenger seat and a white powder residue in his pocket, but there wasn’t enough left “to collect and test” so he was released. Anderson also was cited for driving under suspension and the registration light violation, police said.
Shots: Callers reported shots fired in the 700 block of Woodlawn Road, Wednesday. Police said they located several spent casings and information for further investigation.
