Argument: A woman told police she was arguing with a man she stays with in the 2800 block of Sunset Boulevard when he "became angry and grabbed her throat," Sunday. Police said she had red marks around her neck "that appeared to look like fingers," and redness on the side of her face, but when they talked to the man he insisted the disagreement was strictly verbal "and that they were arguing because they were drinking." He also claimed the cuts and bleeding knuckles they saw on his hand were old injuries and said they'd "been dating for four months" and she has several items at his residence. They spoke to the woman again, but said that time she told them she "didn't know where the marks on her neck were from" and advised she is not dating the man but "stays there for two weeks at a time to clean the residence," insisting they do not have an intimate relationship. When advised they needed to separate for the night police said she insisted on staying at the residence and told them she doesn't want to pursue charges.

Ex anger: Police attempted to talk to a Sunset Boulevard resident about an issue involving her children and their father, but the woman "would not speak with (them) and walked away, Friday.

Booked: A man who police said appeared to be "so intoxicated ... he was unable to stand on his own" was taken into custody after he allegedly sent threatening messages to a woman, Saturday. Police said Scott A. Wires, 52, 820 Lawson Ave., is facing a charge of aggravated menacing. The female said she'd been talking with Wires "frequently throughout the recent past," but claimed she'd told him earlier in the day "not to call her until she has had time to wake up and drink her coffee." She claimed he became irate and began sending her threatening texts, and while she figured he was intoxicated she wanted to pursue charges since he knows where she lives and feared he would come there, police said.

Charmed: A man was "cussing and using vulgar language" on a city bus and refused to get off, Saturday. Police said the male was demanding his money back and "became irritated and passive aggressive" when they attempted to speak with him, cussing and trying to "grab his money out of the coin box" at the front of the bus. After being told again to get off the bus he complied, but stood in front of the bus. When police warned him he was going to be handcuffed he stepped aside "while continuing to cuss and be passive aggressive." He was advised to contact the bus station "to resolve any problems," then police gave him a ride to JFK Apartments.

Booked: A caller reported a woman passed out at the wheel of a car at a gas station, but when they woke her, she told them "she was sick and just fell asleep" before walking into the store to pay for her gas, Saturday. Kasey Mamula, 38, 515 N. Fourth St., Steubenville, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, police said. They said she consented to a search of the vehicle, but they found two green pills believed to be clonazepam in bags in her purse and more torn bags in the cars, along with a reported crack pipe.

Noisy neighbors: A crowd gathered outside a residence in the 1100 block of Lincoln Avenue was "playing music and being loud," disrupting neighbors, police said. A female told them they were "just hanging out" outside her boyfriend's residence when a man came outside and started yelling at them. The neighbor said when he asked them to quiet down they responded "by yelling obscenities at him," police reported. All involved were advised to keep the noise down and keep to themselves.

Denhart was taken into custody after a caller reported a suspicious male hiding in the back yard of a house in the 100 block of Teresa Drive. An hour earlier, police had been told Denhart was refusing to leave a family member's home but when they arrived, he'd fled but they did confirm the outstanding warrants. Several hours later, the property owner reported his surveillance camera captured images of a man in a "bright blue hatchback-style vehicle" with a "large outline tattoo on his right calf" trespassing on his property and believed the two incidents were related.

Choked up: A Maxwell Avenue resident said a package was stolen off his porch, Friday. He said neighbors reported seeing an individual known to him in the area, so he "walked to a nearby garage" to speak with the individual and claimed he was "choked and struck in the face" by the man. Police said his nose was bleeding and he had a small cut on his upper lip. While police were talking to him, the owner of the property arrived and "became irate" because the man had gone on his property to start a fight and said he didn't want him returning. The man he suspected of stealing his package said the Maxwell Avenue resident showed up "unannounced and unwelcomed" and when he tried to shove him out of the garage claims he took a swing at him. He admitted causing the Maxwell Avenue man's nose to bleed but said he was "defending himself."

Bagged: Employees said two people walked into a Sunset Boulevard convenience store and one of them left with cleaning supplies she didn't pay for, Friday. The manager said the male ordered food from the deli while his female companion roamed the store, "concealing items in a large black bag." When he confronted her, he said she and the male left the property in a dark blue Chevy Malibu. Police said surveillance footages showed the woman "blatantly concealing" the items in her bag.
