Charged: Mollie A. Shanabarger, 26, 3625 Wood St., Weirton, driving under the influence and possession of a controlled substance, Wednesday.

Charged: Marina Walter, 22, Toronto, child endangerment, Sept. 11.

Charged: Jon W. Patterson, 24, East Liverpool, driving while suspended- administrative, fictitious registration and no headlights, Sept. 12.

Charged: Patrick Wagner, 41, 1326 North River Ave., theft, Sept. 12.

Charged: Shaun D. Reed, 41, East Liverpool, failure to yield and driving while suspended, Sept. 12.

Charged: Evangeline L. Fontaine, 39, 1210 South River Ave., misuse of emergency 911, Monday.

Charged: Cory A. Kavanaugh, 32, 502 ½ Findley St., domestic violence and possession of marijuana and marijuana paraphernalia, Thursday.

Oddities: A resident wanted to know if anyone else "called about 'weird lights' in the sky over Wintersville, Wednesday. Dispatchers advised no one else had noticed.

Searching: A caller reported a man behaving strangely at the Friendship Park raceway, telling deputies he was "crawling around on the ground" and it appeared "as if the man may be on drugs," Wednesday. Deputies spoke with the man, who said he and his fiance had been arguing the night before and he threw her engagement ring on the ground and the stone fell out on the ground. He said he came back to look for it and got on his hands and knees to search the area.

In demand: A Steubenville-area resident reported a verbal dispute with her boyfriend, Wednesday. They said the argument was about issues they were having in their relationship, deputies said. She said she thought they were over and she'd stayed at a male friend's house after a medical issue, but the boyfriend started texting her "to come home" and telling how much he missed her, so she came back. She said she moved back with the boyfriend, but after being back a few days the other man texted telling her how much he missed her and asking her to go to him, but the boyfriend saw the texts and told her to get out. Deputies said she was too upset to drive, so the male ended up getting a ride to family member's house because he'd told them he had been drinking.

Moving on out: A Wintersville resident said he returned home to find it had been ransacked and some items were missing, Wednesday. After investigating, deputies determined it was a dispute over personal property of two roommates and a civil matter. They said an individual "was moving out and too items that (the caller) claimed were his and (that) he'd purchased."

Steubenville Police

Blow out: A motorist told police she hit a pothole and her front passenger tire blew out on Mall Drive near the old Dick's Sporting Goods, Wednesday. She told police she "panicked and didn't know what to do and (tried) to steer the vehicle to the right" but it struck a light pole. Police said the front passenger side of her car was heavily damaged and the tire was "broken off of the vehicle." Both front side air bags deployed, and they said a chunk of the sidewall was missing and followed yaw markings on the pavement to the pothole and said they found "a small piece of what appeared to be a tire." She had bleeding injuries to both legs and complained of wrist pain, they said.

Had enough: Callers said a woman was walking through the Lawson Avene/West Adams Street area "yelling obscenities and causing a disturbance," Wednesday. She told police she'd been arguing with her significant other throughout the day because he was making "outlandish allegations against her, claiming she has been trying to poison him." She said he let her take his car to visit a dangerously ill family member at the hospital, but the fighting resumed until she decided to leave. Police gave her a ride to Weirton where a friend picked her up.

Charged: Police said a city resident is facing charges after she struck another car in the 800 block of Market Street, Thursday. Molly Jane Sleith, 46, 747 Sunshine Park, was cited with OVI and failure to control after telling them "she was unsure what took place and she was not injured," they said. Police allege they detected a "strong odor of an alcoholic beverage," her eyes were bloodshot and she was unsteady on her feet, and claim she told them she'd had about give beers. She was put on an eight-hour intoxication hold at the county jail.
