Stealing Christmas: More residents reported thieves stealing packages from their porches, Wednesday.
• A resident in the 700 block of Belleview Boulevard said neighbors advised him packages had been stolen from his porch, Wednesday. He said the neighbors told him they saw a female jump out of a silver sedan, run to his porch and grab the packages. When he returned to town he told them two or three packages had been stolen and had a total value of $80-$100.
• A Belleview Boulevard resident told police someone in a silver Honda with a broken out rear window grabbed a package from his home and fled, Wednesday. Police located the vehicle in the alley near the 1500 block of Plum Street and identified the four individuals in it, all of whom denied stealing packages though police noted that while they were speaking with them "the vehicle locked." The vehicle's plates had been expired for several months so police had it towed. Detectives are now investigating.
• A Euclid Avenue resident also said a package was stolen from her porch, Saturday. She said she got a notice it had been delivered to her mailbox, but when she sent her daughter to bring it in the package was gone. She notified the post office of the theft she was advised to contact police as well.
No applause: A North Seventh Street resident told police a man "clapped her in the face" when she tried to apologize to him, Wednesday. Police said they didn't see any injuries or marks on her face and the man denied slapping her. He advised that a few days ago she'd thrown his door open, which damaged a closet door.
