Lose him: A Tiltonsville resident was alarmed by a domestic dispute that "had been going on for several hours," Dec. 21. Deputies were told the male involved had "possibly thrown the victim down the steps at one point" and that the woman "was screaming for the male to stop assaulting her," but he was gone when deputies arrived. The victim said the man had been argumentative for the past couple of days and when she sat his laptop on the bed the fighting turned physical, with the male picking it up and throwing it down. She said he grabbed her by the neck and "threw her around the hallway, making her hit her head off a fish tank." She complained of dizziness and said her head hurt after the abuse and said she kept telling him to leave, which he finally did. She said they'd dated several years ago but "the relationship ended due to his aggressive temperament." Deputies said the male has an outstanding warrant from Belmont County for failure to appear along with a history of domestic violence in Ohio and domestic battery in West Virginia.
Angry juvenile: A Wintersville woman reported someone kicked her front door so hard the first floor of her residence shook, Dec. 21. She told deputies she was lying on the couch when it happened and was too afraid to look outside. Wintersville police stopped a truckload of juveniles nearby, one of them a 14-year-old wearing a balaclava riding in the back of the truck despite the cold weather, and later determined the juveniles hadn't been where they were supposed to be. One of them eventually admitted he kicked the door "just for fun," but later another said it was payback because one of the resident's children had made a disparaging comment about one of the juvenile's deceased family members. Deputies said the youth split the door jamb.
Stolen: A Two Ridge Road resident reported the theft of her cosmetology bag from her car, Saturday. She valued the missing items at around $700.
