Risky business: Callers reported seeing juveniles hanging out of a window in the 1600 block of Ridge Avenue "yelling for help," Tuesday. Police said their mother told them the kids "should be in bed sleeping," but discovered they were awake and brought them to the door where one of them admitted being the prankster. After speaking with the kids police left them with their mother.

Ex trouble: A woman in the 100 block of North Fourth Street told police a male known to her has been stealing money from her bank account and had assaulted her, Monday. She said after she got her tax refund he started transferring money out of her account and when she confronted him he beat her, hitting her in the face and back at a Dock Street location on March 9. She admitted taking a swing at him, police said. She said another man was present but didn't want to call for help because he "did not want the police getting involved or being at his house." She said the day before, March 8, she'd been "dragged down the city steps from the top of the hilltop" and sustained an injury to her leg.

Recurring problem: A man who'd been banned from a property in the 100 block of North Fourth Street earlier in the week returned, causing problems for a female and the man she was with, Tuesday. Police charged Terrick Delaney Grimm of West Mifflin, Pa., with criminal trespass as well as felony possession of drugs after they found a bag containing a white rock-like substance believed to be methamphetamine stuffed in his pocket. The two residents said he entered the apartment without their permission.

Acting out: Police had to ask a Maryland Avenue couple to separate after each accused the other of causing a disturbance in the 1200 block, Monday. The male said his wife "had been drinking heavily at a friend's house and returned ... acting belligerent," but his wife said her husband was the problem and claimed he'd been arguing with her all evening and wanted him removed. Since the two are legally married, police said they couldn't force anyway to leave the residence but they did convince them they needed to stay away from each other. About an hour later police had to return to the residence because they were at it again, noting that both husband and wife "were intoxicated." She claimed her husband was "calling her names" and wanted him to leave, but he insisted he hadn't "and there was no issue between the (two) of them." She wanted him removed but police told her she'd have to have him evicted. They told the two of them, again, to stay apart for the night and suggested "they make other living arrangements."

Booked: Angelo Rizzo, 35, 180 Hillcrest Road, Apt. 3, Weirton, probation violation, Tuesday. Jefferson County sheriff's deputies reported a family member was bringing Rizzo to the justice center to turn himself in on the probation violation when he allegedly jumped out of the car "and ran up Washington Street." City police located Rizzo at the homeless shelter on Sixth Street and took him into custody, deputies said.

Served: A driver was taken into custody after a traffic stop, Tuesday. Reginald D. Johnson Jr., 23, 810 N. Sixth St., Steubenville, was booked into the county jail on an outstanding warrant. Police allege Johnson was traveling twice the speed limit in the school zone and didn't have a valid license. He was cited for speeding and driving under suspension, and when the owner of the vehicle, Meleah Fletcher, 32, also of 810 N. Sixth St., appeared at the scene police said they cited her for permitting an unlicensed driver to use her car.

Party crasher: A man who'd been banned from a property in the 100 block of North Fourth Street managed to gain entry, then caused a problem for a tenant, Tuesday. He told police he was on the banned list "but in his opinion the list was old." Tenants said he'd been beating on a door and managed to "somehow gain entry" and was agitated because he thought someone there owed him $5. A woman told them she'd been written up by management earlier in the day because he'd followed her into the building and claimed he'd "threatened to assault her" if she didn't give him the money.

Warnings given: Drivers have been warned against making a left from Bryden Road onto Sunset Boulevard, Tuesday. Police said that turn is prohibited during daylight hours. Residents have complained motorists trying to avoid construction delays and detours are causing backups at the intersection by trying to make illegal left turns.

Concerned: A Prime Time meal delivery driver requested a welfare check at a LaBelle residence after he was unable to make contact with the occupant, Tuesday. Police said the driver told them he'd found the front door open and the screen locked on Monday, and when nothing had changed the following day he was concerned for the resident's wellbeing. The resident was eventually located at the hospital in Weirton.

Heard: A Pembroke Road resident told police he heard someone knocking on his door and a Belleview Boulevard resident said someone was knocking on her window, Tuesday. Police checked both properties and found no one.
