Off putting: A “very upset” Tiltonsville man was banging on the door during a Yorkville Village Council meeting, Tuesday. Deputies said the man told them someone snatched his Samsung cell phone while he was sleeping at the bus stop across from a pharmacy and “he just knows some kids stole it.” He also claimed someone had “sliced his tires” on his mountain bike because “they had air in them when he fell asleep.” They said when they asked him if he’d seen actual cut marks on his tires, “he did not seem to understand than just because the tires were flat did not mean they were cut.” Deputies said he also and was “very erratic and moving around oddly while screaming and demanding” they retrieve video from the store, and when they told him the cameras can’t record that far away he “started yelling about kids on their bikes and he knows they stole it” because “it had to be them.” They told him he cannot make accusations without proof and advised him to search his phone’s location using another device. He called back Wednesday to report his phone was showing a location two hours earlier on “state Route 7 north between Brilliant and Mingo Junction,” so deputies pointed out it couldn’t have been the juvenile he had accused “as he was on a bicycle at the time and with his mom over an hour (before.)” He calmed down, but when they asked him again if he was sure his tires had been cut, he told them, “No, but they had to be cut” and when th ey offered to inspect them again advised “they had to be cut.”

Big bite: A Bloomingdale woman was bit on her thigh and hand by a German Shepherd, Tuesday. She told deputies she has no idea whose dog it is.

Police said Paige Pompei, 30, 3152 Weir Ave., was charged with misdemeanor possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia after she allegedly dropped a metal pipe as police approached her. They said the caller had reported the argument had been going on “for some time” and noted Pompei “appeared upset” and was argumentative. Pompei also was cited for expired plates and blocking traffic, police said.
