Out of hand: A city resident was charged after she allegedly grabbed a nurse at Trinity Medical Center West by her hair "and slammed her head into the hospital bed several times," Friday. An Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper assisted officers in restraining the woman, who they report also spit at two nurses. Nashay Wise, 25, 1130 D Lincoln Ave., Steubenville, was charged with two counts of assault, police said.
Eat and run: A restaurant manager reported a couple ordered just over $37 in food but didn't eat all of it and refused to pay, Friday. The male refused to pay and walked out, leaving the woman behind. She paid $20 toward the bill and told the staff she'd come back with $25 to cover the rest of the tab plus a tip.
No control: A Lincoln Avenue resident told police her 17-year-old son "took her car without permission in the middle of the night and drove to visit a friend in Columbus," Friday. She said he takes the car without permission on a regular basis and wasn't worried about his safety. She said she didn't want to pursue charges.
Bottled up: An officer on patrol spotted a man running in the roadway down Adams Street Hill, Saturday. The man told them "He was intoxicated and arguing with his wife" and needed to leave his home.
Squatter: Police confiscated two bags of crack, a crack pipe, a butane torch, a pack of cigarettes and a loaded gun from the basement of a vacant building on North Fourth Street, Friday.
Two charged: Two Toronto men are facing charges after a traffic stop for an expired registration, Friday. Police said the driver, 60-year-old Mark D. Morrow, 1218 N. Fourth St., was charged with possession of cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia, while Iyrhonn L. Chester, 51, 201 township Road 271, was also charged with possessing drug paraphernalia. After stopping the vehicle K-9 Ripley was called to the scene and alerted to the odor of drugs, police allege.
Bumpy ride: A motorist told police she swerved when a semi-truck attempted to change lanes on state Route 7 near the Market Street bridge, hitting a pothole that flattened her tire, Friday.
Pointless: Someone spray-painted graffiti on the back of the Federico's building, Friday. Video of the vandalism was turned over to police.
Sad: A Sherman Avenue woman needed help getting her son to leave her home, Friday. He was gone when officers arrived but told police he's currently homeless and she doesn't want him to return to her home. Police found him a few blocks away and advised him not to go back.
Got help: A resident in the 600 block of Lawson Avenue resident reported a woman was trying to enter his home, Friday. Police said they found the woman about a block away and, due to her erratic behavior, determined she was in no condition to care for herself. Steubenville firefighters transported her to the hospital.
Charged: Antonet M. Mims, 33, 4409 Lovers Lane Circle, Apt. D, Steubenville, operating a vehicle under the influence, no taillights and no operator's license, Saturday.
Code issue: Notices of violation were sent to the owner/occupant of a property 1120 Oak Grove Ave., couch in the alley way behind residence; 1145 Wellesley Ave., litter and garbage scattered on property.
Cited: Dominic D. Downs, 32, Steubenville, no operator's license and a red-light violation.
